This is a very good read.
Pretty good
Great book on the history of the church it was well worth the read. Every Christian should know history of how we can to be the church in America!
This book will truly enlighten you as to the difference between christianity as a religion and christianity as following Christ, and the way in which these divergent tenets halped to shape a young nation. A real eye-opener, this was a difficult book to get into, but I found it to be well-researched and felt that the author was very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. Perhaps it was a harder read due to the time in which it was written (late 1800's). It was probably the best-researched book I have read in awhile and was spot-on in it's analysis. Worthwhile read to serious students of bible and religion history.
This old book (1890s) gives a thorough run-down of the evolution of the Christian church in the USA...integrating the pursuit of faith and practice with the history of North America--although it is a slow read, it was unique...if you're a serious student of church and American history, this is a superb book!
